Made by IB students. For IB students.

A small project, shaped in conversations with people who actually scored 44s and 45s. For everybody who knows exactly what they should be doing tonight, and still doesn't do it.

Everyone tells you that the IB is a two-year marathon. Six IAs, the EE, TOK, and somehow also the actual content. People keep saying the answer is time management, but nobody shows you how to do it at 9pm on a Tuesday when you're tired and the phone is right there.

Marathons aren't run as marathons. They're run as the next kilometre. Praxlock's whole job is turning two years into the next 25 minutes.

Blockers haven't fixed it

You've probably tried the blockers. Screen Time, app locks, phone in another room. They remove the distraction, but not the reason you reach for it. The moment the block lifts, you're back, because nothing about you wanting to study has changed. That's the gap in every focus app: they make studying harder to avoid. None of them make you want to do it.

The honest bit

If an app guarantees you a 45, it's lying to you. Nobody can give you a grade, or discipline either. We read the actual research on why students procrastinate, the guilt loop, the coping, why "just discipline yourself" fails almost everyone. It converges on one uncomfortable finding: the only version of you that gets a 45 is the one who actually wants it. What an app can do is hold you to it on the nights you stop caring. That's the only promise we make.

Start the 6-minute check

The Gap

What is the gap between you and a 45? A free 6-minute check. Plan your next 3 days of study and it gets marked the way an examiner marks a paper: realistic load? avoiding your weakest subject? anything pointed at your nearest assessment? You get an honest verdict and a repaired plan next to yours. Honest includes: if your problem is understanding the content, we'll tell you you need a tutor, not us. No pitch.

The Coach

Once the gap is identified, how can we close it? Closing the gap is daily work, so the second half does it with you. A small Mac app sits in your menu bar while you study. It knows what you said you're working on. When you drift, it sees it, and instead of blocking you, it talks to you. A short, sharp push about the standard you set and the exact next move. Firm and personal, never a lecture. Imagine David Goggins at your desk, on your side.

It never blocks anything, reads window titles only, never screenshots, and parents never see your data. Ever. We built it for ourselves and studied with it through real deadlines; it's the reason our own follow-through and grades moved.

Praxlock is being built in private with a small group of founding testers. Twenty is the honest cap, it's what we can support properly. Join the list to hear the moment it opens. You get: the app free through the whole beta (no payment info exists anywhere on this site), a direct line to the builders, and the Founding Tester deal. If Praxlock ever costs money, 33% off for as long as you're subscribed. What we ask: you have a Mac, you're in the IB, and you'll tell us the truth about it. (macOS only for now. The coach keeps you working. It never does the work for you.)

See your gap. Join the list.

You're on the list. Praxlock's full release lands later this year — you'll hear first.
